We arrived at Los Gigantes in a flat calm but the swell from yesterday’s southerly wind still reflected off the cliffs and into the marina despite the dog-leg entrance. We could only stay for one night, not the two we asked for. Too busy. No room. A boat that we had seen in many places on route also asked to stay. The small children, as well as their parents, needed to recover after a hard time at sea and had arranged to meet the grandparents here as their last get-together before they crossed the ocean. No room. When we left the marina the next morning our friends were precariously anchored off the entrance in huge swells that threatened to impale them high up the immense, vertical cliffs.
